Celeb is a newly minted project by Korea JoongAng Daily – the English edition of the South Korean national daily newspaper which works in cooperation with the New York Times. Celeb features news related to Korean celebrities.
Because of the difference in types of content, Celeb's pages required different design approaches. To develop the best interface, I explored dozens of media websites and applications and their approaches to organizing content and building responsive layouts that look good on different screen sizes. Among the best references are Last.fm, Forbes, The New York Times, BBC, and KoreaByMe.
I worked on this project together with Zien Solution company. They also developed a CMS system for Celeb admins.
All the designs presented below were created solely by me. However, Celeb has many more features not covered in this article.

Design Guidelines
A little note about guidelines. One can't build a full component system first, to construct mockups with it, like the wall is built using bricks. As design goes through changes, it enriches the design system, and vice versa: the design system helps unify the website look, and make it consistent. Therefore, it is an iterative process, a dialog.
